Dr. David Onu is a medical doctor, author, speaker, and internationally certified life and career reinvention coach based in Australia.
With more than 25 years of experience across medicine, leadership, and coaching, David has spent much of his professional life helping people make difficult decisions under pressure. Over time, he began to notice a deeper pattern among many high-achieving professionals.
From the outside, they appeared successful. Yet privately, many felt restless, uncertain, or disconnected from work that once motivated them.
At one point, David found himself confronting the same question.
Rather than seeing career uncertainty as failure, he came to view it as an invitation to realignment. Through years of reflection, coaching conversations, and observing how professionals navigate major transitions, he developed a practical framework for approaching career crossroads with clarity and intention.
That question eventually became the foundation of his work, leading to his book, The Career Reinvention Blueprint™, a practical guide for professionals who feel successful on paper but uncertain about their next chapter.
David is also the founder of davidonu.com, where he writes about career reinvention, meaningful work, and personal growth. Since launching the site in 2021, he has published more than 90 essays exploring the tension many professionals experience when external success no longer matches their internal sense of direction.
His writing has appeared on platforms such as Medium and The Good Men Project, and he speaks internationally on topics including career clarity, professional identity, and navigating change.
Originally from Nigeria and now living in Australia, David writes for a global audience of professionals seeking thoughtful, practical guidance during transitions.
When he is not working or writing, he enjoys reading, reflecting, and spending time with his family.
